  • 500g russet potatoes
  • 200g shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley for garnish

  • First, peel the potatoes and then cut them into 1/4-inch thick sticks.
  • Then rinse the potato sticks with water (cold) so that excess starch can be removed. Then dry them with a clean towel.
  • Take a deep fryer and heat the oil.
  • After that, fry the potatoes in batches unless they turn golden brown and become crispy.
  • Then remove them from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
  • Sprinkle the hot fries with salt to taste.
  • Preheat the oven to broil.
  • Spread the fries on a baking sheet and sprinkle evenly with the shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Place the baking sheet under the broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
