Ingredients

For theSalmon Burgers:

  • 1 lb salmon fillet
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Slaw:

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Start by cutting the salmon into chunks and place them in a food processor. Pulse until finely chopped but not pureed.
  • In a bowl, combine the salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, dill, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into four patties.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the salmonburgers for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  • While the burgers are cooking, prepare the slaw by mixing together the cabbage, carrot, mayonnaise, vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper.
  • Serve the salmon burgers with the slaw on the side, or pile it on top for extra crunch and flavor.

It’s a lighter, healthier twist on the traditional beef burger, with the richness of salmon enhanced by fresh dill and tangy Dijon mustard. This results in a patty that’s not only flavorful but also moist and tender.
